Food Photographer of the Year 2013
Another proud supporter of the Artists Bill of Rights has announced a new competition!
The international celebration of the art of food photography, Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2013 opened for entries on 11 June 2012.
After a stunning first year, when more than 3000 images were entered from over 60 countries around the world culminating in a magnificent exhibition held at the Mall Galleries, London, the competition seeks to grow exponentially in its second year.
This year's awards has several exciting new categories for entrants, including the Errazuriz Wine Photographer of the Year, for images of wine, producers and all things related to wine. Also the Food Sn-apping category, for images of food taken on mobile 'phones, in support of Action Against Hunger, and Food off the Press, for previously published work in books and magazines.

Stop43, an Artists Bill of Rights supporter, announced a possible new threat working its way thru the UK parliment, Clause 56:
"…the IPO has sneaked an extremely broad blunt-instrument clause into a general-purpose Bill which, if enacted unaltered, will enable many of Hargreaves' recommendations to be implemented by civil servants without further Parliamentary oversight of the legislative process – MPs will only have the power to say no."
What the UK Parliment decides, as well as the EU, regarding Orphan Works usage will have a great impact on all signatories to the Berne Convention, particularly the United States.

Artists' Bill of Rights supporter Sony World Photography, organised by the World Photography Organisation (WPO), announced today that the 2013 Sony World Photography Awards are now open for entries!
Each year the Sony World Photography Awards uncover and celebrate the very best in international contemporary photography. To date, over 430,000 photographs from 178 countries have been submitted. Free to enter and judged by leading figures of the photography community, the awards bring worldwide recognition and exposure to its winning and shortlisted photographers. Previous winners include Alejandro Chaskielberg, Simon Norfolk, Paolo Pellegrin, Robin Hammond, Rena Effendi, David Zimmerman and the 2012 L'Iris d'Or recipient, US photographer Mitch Dobrowner.
