New work from Simon Roberts looking at the economic, political and social effects of the recent UK recession. Alongside the exhibition, a participatory space will be set up where visitors will be invited to share their thoughts and experiences.

Metadata has become enormously important in all the digital arts and will continue to be a valuable tool for editing, tracking, describing and attributing information and authorship to creators. Its importance for the growing orphan works problem cannot be overstated.

In June 2012, London's most celebrated venues (Museum of London, British Library, British Museum, Tate Modern, the V&A and more...) will play host to a world-class, city-wide celebration of photography as the London Festival of Photography returns for its second year.
The festival opens to the public on 1 June 2012 (many exhibitions are open during the Queen's Diamond Jubilee bank holiday weekend 2, 3, 4 & 5 June). Press events and private views will take place on 31 May 2012. American photographer Mitch Dobrowner wins the prestigious L’Iris d’Or
Tobias Bräuning from Germany announced as overall Open winner

Asef Ali Mohammad from Middlesex University, UK, wins Student Focus Award

American photographer Mitch Dobrowner has tonight, Thursday 26 April, been announced as this year's winner of the coveted L'Iris d'Or - the 2012 Sony World Photography Awards Photographer of the Year.
Dobrowner was presented with the award during the Sony World Photography Awards Gala ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in London's Park Lane for his extraordinary series of images, Storms. This is the second year in which the awards have been held in London having previously been held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. Over 112,000 images were entered into the 2012 competition from 171 countries – the largest number of entries to date.
Dobrowner said at the awards, 'In landscape photography, there is one moment that will never be the same again. I want my images to do the speaking. That's what photography is all about'.
