Culture is Free?

Someone has to pay.

Usually, it's the artist.

Pay the artist and respect their creative rights!

(they won't survive without your cooperation)

Creative works require skill, effort, struggle, experience. The overwhelming majority of artists aren't paid adequately, if at all. They must work several jobs for basic support, yet their product is vital to the enrichment of our culture. We pay the architects who design our buildings, we pay the industrial designer to create attractive products and interfaces, like those we appreciate on our phones and tablets. Why don't we want to pay the artists, dancers, photographers, writers, et. al., who add the essential value to our culture? They are the most under-recognized segment of the economy. Imagine your life experience without them! After all, who wants a culture wrapped in plain, brown paper?
